Tom Russell
Director, James Cowper Kreston
R3 President from April 2025 – 2026.
During his year as R3 President, Tom Russell championed improvements to the member experience, overseeing the development of R3’s new website (due to launch in the first half of 2026) and investment in enhanced training systems to support members at every stage of their careers. Tom also placed strong emphasis on engaging the next generation of professionals, supporting new initiatives including mentoring, bursaries and leadership development.
Tom hosted the inaugural Fellows’ Lunch which provided an opportunity for R3 to utilise the experience and knowledge of more experienced members of the profession.
He also represented R3 and the profession across the UK and internationally, building on relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers, including welcoming the new Head of the Insolvency Service, Duncan Beach. He took forward R3’s proposals to modernise aspects of the insolvency framework and promoted the introduction of a fixed fee for liquidators in CVLs where creditors declined to engage.
